Cookies are small files stored on your device that enable the Platform to provide various features and functionalities. Web beacons (also known as pixel tags or clear GIFs) are very small graphic elements that can recognize cookies, record the time and date a page was viewed, and identify similar information from your device. We will obtain your consent to use cookies when required by applicable law. Unless otherwise stated in the Additional Terms for specific jurisdictions, by using the Platform, you consent to our use of cookies. You may refer to the section below to learn how to disable certain cookies. In addition, we allow our business partners, analytics providers, and other third-party vendors to use cookies to collect information about your online activity. Please note that we are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties, and their information-handling practices are not covered by this Privacy Policy.
We use your information to improve, support, and manage the Platform; to enable you to use its features; to fulfill and enforce our Terms of Service; and for the following purposes:
To fulfill requests for products, services, and Platform features; to support internal operations including troubleshooting, data analysis, testing, research, statistics, and surveys; and to gather your feedback. We also use your information to provide our shopping features and facilitate the purchase and delivery of products, goods, and services — including by sharing your information with merchants, payment processors, fulfillment providers, and other service partners necessary to process your orders.
To customize and personalize the content you see on the Platform. For example, we may provide services based on your selected country settings or display content similar to what you or other users you interact with have liked. This includes supporting the social functions of the Platform, such as allowing you to share User Content and interact with other users.
To send promotional materials, including via instant messaging or email, either directly from us or on behalf of our affiliates and trusted third parties. We may also use your information to enhance, promote, and develop the Platform, as well as to highlight trending topics, hashtags, and campaigns on the Platform — including through contests and promotional events.
To enable messaging functions when you use them; to improve our technology, including our machine learning models and algorithms; and to communicate with you, such as notifying you of service updates or changes. We also use your information to detect and prevent misuse, fraud, and illegal activity on the Platform; and to maintain the safety and integrity of the Platform by scanning, analyzing, and reviewing User Content, messages, and related metadata for potential violations of our Terms of Service, Community Guidelines, or other policies, as well as for detecting inappropriate content.
To ensure that content is displayed in the most effective way for you and your device.
To understand how you use the Platform, including across your devices; to conduct data analysis, research, and testing; and to maintain Platform stability and security.
To enable participation in interactive features on the Platform.
To verify your identity where applicable and to ensure that you meet the minimum age requirement to use our Platform (as required by law).
To provide location-based services (where such services are available in your jurisdiction).
To comply with legal obligations, carry out tasks in the public interest, or protect the interests of our users and others.
To infer additional information about you, such as your interests, in order to personalize the content displayed on the Platform.
To combine information we collect or receive about you for the purposes described above.
We may also use your personal information for other purposes disclosed to you at the time of collection or with your consent, where required by applicable law.
If you choose to register on the Platform using your social media account details (such as Apple, Facebook, or Google), you will provide us—or authorize your social network to provide us—with your phone number, email address, username, and public profile. We will also share certain information with the associated social network, such as your app ID, access token, and referrer URL.
If you choose to allow third-party services to access your account, we may share certain information about you with those third parties. For example, we may enable merchants to view and manage your orders through our shopping feature or allow third-party platforms and partners to authenticate users more efficiently. Depending on the permissions you grant, those third parties may collect your account information and other data you choose to share.
When you choose to share content to third-party social media platforms, the content, username, and accompanying text will be shared on that platform. If you choose to share content via third-party instant messaging platforms (such as WhatsApp), only a link to the Platform content will be shared—not the content itself.
We provide information and content to service providers that support our business operations, such as cloud service providers and content moderation partners who help ensure that the Platform remains a safe and enjoyable place, as well as service providers who assist us in marketing the Platform.
Payment Processors and Transaction Fulfillment Providers: If you choose to purchase Coins or make other payments related to transactions, we will share relevant data with the payment service providers to facilitate the transaction. For Coin transactions, we share transaction IDs to help us identify you and credit the correct number of Coins to your account after payment.
Analytics Providers: We use analytics providers to help us optimize and improve the Platform. Our third-party analytics partners may also assist with personalized advertising.
Advertisers, Ad Networks, Publishers, and Measurement Partners: We may share information with advertisers and third parties engaged in measurement and analytics to display ads and track how many Platform users view or interact with those ads. This data helps advertisers understand their audience characteristics, assess customer responses to their products or services, and allows publishers to identify which ads are shown to measure the effectiveness and value of our ad network. In addition, this information may be used to allow advertisers or certain ad partners to bid on advertising opportunities, as permitted by applicable law.
We may share your information with members, subsidiaries, or affiliates within our corporate group to provide, enhance, and optimize the Platform, prevent unauthorized use, and support users.
We may share your information with law enforcement agencies, public authorities, or other parties if we are legally required to do so, or if we have a good-faith belief that such sharing is necessary to:
Comply with applicable laws, regulations, codes of practice, government guidelines, or other legal obligations consistent with recognized standards.
Enforce our [Terms of Service], agreements, policies, and standards, including investigating potential violations.
Establish, exercise, or defend legal claims, including responding to subpoenas, court orders, legal processes, law enforcement requests, or government investigations.
Detect, prevent, or address security issues, fraud, copyright infringement, or other illegal or technical problems; or protect our rights, property, or safety, or that of our users, copyright holders, third parties, or the public, as required or permitted by law (including sharing information with other companies and organizations for fraud prevention and credit risk reduction purposes).
We may share the categories of personal information listed above in connection with significant corporate transactions such as the sale of a website, mergers, consolidations, asset sales, or in the event of bankruptcy.
We may share your information for other purposes with your consent or at your direction. If we obtain your consent, you may withdraw it at any time.
Please note that if your profile is public, your content can be viewed by anyone on the Platform and may also be accessed or shared by friends, followers, or third parties such as search engines, content aggregators, and news sites. You can control who can view your videos each time you upload them. Additionally, you can switch your profile to private by changing your settings to a “Private Account” under the “Manage My Account” settings.
We may also disclose your information to third parties:
If we sell or purchase any business or assets (whether as a result of liquidation, bankruptcy, or otherwise), in which case we may disclose your data to prospective sellers or buyers of such business or assets; or
If we sell, acquire, merge with, are acquired by, or partner with another company or business, or sell all or part of our assets. In such transactions, user information may be included among the transferred assets.
When you make a purchase through our shopping feature, we share relevant transaction information with merchants, payment processors, fulfillment providers, and other service partners. For example, we may share your order details, contact information, and shipping address to process your purchase. We may also share your email address with merchants so they can send you marketing communications. These entities may use the shared information in accordance with their own privacy policies.
Your information may be stored on servers located outside your country of residence, such as in Singapore, Malaysia, Ireland, and the United States. We maintain global primary servers to deliver our services consistently and continuously worldwide.
You have certain rights and choices regarding your information. Depending on applicable law, you may have the right to access, delete, update, or correct your data, obtain information about how your data is processed, lodge a complaint with an authority, and potentially exercise other rights.
